Task 2: Visualisation and brief

If I were to make a video for this I would possibly have the video a delicate video a very sad to go with the song. So I would her singing and playing the piano like in her picture as well as showing two photos of whoever it is she is singing about one being either when they were children or in school and the other being a single picture of the person on their own in uniform so that it looks like she’s sing to them and shows she is reflecting on the past and wants it back. 

We could have flashes on different peoples lives like having parents sitting on a swing chair with two photographs one of their son when he was young the other a current photo of him and a letter from their son they could be looking upset or lonely, you could have siblings preferably a older brother and younger sister messing around throwing pillows/ playing in the garden the every thing could slow down and you see the brother walking off into a light, a newly wed couple cuddling but the husband would also leave after a kiss on the forehead to his wife and also maybe put in a father and children (baby boy and young girl) father cuddling the family and goes to walk away the baby boy could start crying as well as the mother almost at tears but the young daughter could be pulling on her fathers hand and clothes to pull him back in the house but the father would still have to leave.

For the end it would probably be best to show her story or her view so we could show the person she is singing about spending time with her and then leaving her to so that the video doesn’t sound like she’s singing about just herself (although she is singing about some in her life) it will also help people realise that things happen to everyone not just me or you and that life can be hard for everyone.

I recently discovered that the song is about her brother at war in Afghanistan who was lucky to return home. so what you could do after showing her story you could show either everyone coming back or have some of them coming back and others not to just also put across that we are lucky to have the people we love in our lives.
