I was asked to do a presentation of a sound analysis on a film of my choice. I paired up with Molly from my group and together we were trying to decided if we wanted to do pirates of the Caribbean: on stranger tides or Thor.
We felt that if we were to do pirates of the caribbean we would used the opening scene where captain jack is escaping arrest as our five minute sound analysis in the end we choose to do Thor and decided our five minute sound analysis should be on the battle between Thor and the frost giants.
We choose this purely because there are so many different sounds going on in the scene compared to pirates of the caribbean mainly because their are more character's with different abilities which was more course for different sounds.
I think the presentation went well although it was a little tricky as I found my self repeating over some areas at lest twice. I do believe that I may need to improve more on my presenting skills as well as my pitching skills but overall I feel I did well being there were slight complications in the morning like forgetting the DVD.
I have tried to upload my presentation onto slide-share, although for some unknown reason it wont upload but I will be uploading it at a later date.
Group 3: Thor – Scala (and Molly not present)

• Setting the scene, mood etc - a good detailed description of how the instruments used enhanced the sounds
• Overall: All points covered – Merit
• (note for future presentations, make sure you are prepared and bring everything you need i.e. the dvd)
